iMolview Lite is an educational and reference application available on the Android platform. Developed by Molsoft, this free app allows users to browse and view 3D protein and DNA structures from the Protein Data Bank, drug molecules from DrugBank, and small molecules from Pubchem.
With iMolview Lite, users can easily search for specific drug names or proteins and access detailed information associated with each molecule. The app also offers the option to sync and view personal structure files stored in the iMolview folder on the device's sdcard.
One of the standout features of iMolview Lite is its customizable molecular view. Users can choose from a variety of molecular representations, including wires, balls-and-sticks, space filling, ribbon diagrams, and molecular surfaces. Different coloring schemes are also available, allowing users to individually select and color or change the representations of residues, atoms, or chains.
For an immersive experience, users can set the "inertia" to the maximum and watch their molecules spin in 3D indefinitely.
Please note that there is a known issue with certain old HTC phones in the current version of iMolview Lite. However, the developers have assured that this problem will be resolved in the next version.
